JANUARY-FEBRUARY 2011
Well owen went to leeds hospital for his visit to have tests, he had another mri scan, ct scan, a couple of x-rays, blood tests, eeg, and a few other routine tests, owen mainly went in to sort out his nutrition as he was loosing weight rapidly and constantly being sick, he's now nil-my mouth incase if he's asperating, so were awaiting another video floroscrafy, we also found out why owen was being sick constantly which was put down to his gastrostomy tube was going into his bowls, so owen's now got a different gastrostomy, instead of a peg he now has a mick-ey button, wich no tube goes directly into his tummy, so there's no chance of anything going into his bowls again, i found out a little about owen's results, owen's mri scan showed yet more deteriorating, but isn't good news because it means, his life expectancy is quickly shortening, which i hate to think about, owen had a ct scan to see if there was something there that will help with the diagnosis of mitochondrial, but it all came back normal, they do think it's still mitochondrial disorder but a worser type, which is also a metabolic disorder, owen's eeg tests showed no epileplic activity, wih is a very good sign, but he's also awaiting a erg now to, owen's eyes, they still think there ok'ish, even though all the routine tests are ok, they still think there is something, they do no that his eye movements are slow, but we now he can see, i was very happy when we came home as i knew owen's was finally on a proper diet that will work for him, and he got most of the tests he needed all dome at once, it was realy nice also all the staff, i can't put a fault wrong, they all were very welcoming, and were so good at what they did with owen, also the other patients, it's so nice to be able to alk to someone when your miles away from home with no visitors, were back for owen's appontment with his nuroligist on the 22nd march in leeds
Last week owen got ill again, and started sicking blood up, so we ended in hull royal infermary, it's a total different atmostphere compare to leed's, i now there busy, but some patients were waiting for hours to be seen, and the onl reason we wern't was because we went in an ambulance, and proberly because of owen's medical condition, yes the staff are nice, but i didn't really find out why owen was bringing blood up or being sick, i had to ring his consultant peadiatrician to find out what was actually happening which, from him being sick so much the acid would have taken skin in his throught of and the blood was coming from there, and the reason from him being sick was they thought he has broncilitus.
He's all fine now, he hasn't being sick sence coming out of hospital.
