May 2012
Not a lot has happened this month, Owens being really well again, he's not being sick as much, he has being in a lot more pain with his hips, and he wont stop crying as normally I can stop him, Owen and my self had are little separate holidays, Owen went to respite in hull while I went to benidorm for 5 days with some of my family, auntie cousins, mum, and family friend, it was such a good break, and just was nice to not have to worry about anything for a few days, the weather was lovely hitting the 30's and then came back home to the same sort of weather except it's a more sticky heat here, Owens not a big fan of heat so we are trying to stay inside with all the windows open, or in the garden in the shade.
Last week we went to go see Owens othopedic doctor about Owens hips, since he had his hips examination, Owens physio and occupational therapists also came along, Owens doctor said both his hips are know out of joint, but he doesn't want to do an operation until he's already in more pain, which is unbelievable to leave a little boy to wait until he's in further pain, Owens physio and o.t were telling his doctor they don't think Owens in that much pain and that he does it for attention to get more cuddles, I agreed as he sometimes does that but most of the time it is pain he's going through, the doctor obviously was listening to Owens physio and o.t. they kept going on about that I have to put Owen into his specialized seating more often it did feel like there ganging up on me telling me what I should do, but I'm not prepared to be putting Owen in his seating more if it's putting him in more pain, his doctor also doesn't want to do the big operation of taking all his hip joint out just because he knows Owen may only have 5 years left to live, so he said we'll just take the ball joint out, I'm happy with the decision as the operations not as big, but for a doctor to say we wont do it because he may only live so many years there's no point in doing it. I went home so frustrated, annoyed and upset, I didn't know what I could really do if the doctor thought he shouldn't have the operation, but I'm not prepared to see my little boy go through any more pain, if pr when they think the operation is suitable Owen could be to weak to have it done, so I don't see why not having it done sooner which is better for everyone.
I rang his doctors secretary and left a message for the doctor saying, I don't agree with waiting and I would like Owen to have the operation soon as possibly, I' now just waiting to hear back, I'll ring again in 2 weeks if I haven't herd anything.
Owens 4th birthday on the 8th June, were going away for respite for 2 night and having half his birthday spent there, he'll also be having a big birthday party that weekend with lots of his friends coming .
