August 2013
owen's now become to heavy, and was assessed at the beginning of this month for a hoist, he's getting a temporary hoist and then hopefully will be getting the ceilings fitted with hoists to help moving and handling.
at the beginning of the 6 weeks holiday for Owen, i was meant to receive Owens stander that he uses for school, i only received it this month, which ment he onlt had 3 weeks to use it before going back to school, which was not ideal as one of those weeks i was on holiday, anyway i tried him in it, and he's outgrown it so he cant use it for a while until it's being adjusted.
i also received Owens new bed system for him, i knew occupational therapy couldn't come out to the house for a bit, so i attempted sorting it out myself, when occupational therapy came out a few weeks later she was very happy as i had put it together fine, and since we've being using it owen's being sleeping allot better.
owen may not be able to go back to school until late October as he's outgrown his wheelchair so he know need's and emergency appointment to see what they can do and have an assessment.
i dropped Owen of at sunshine house for 8 day's as i was going on holiday i went on Holiday to Spain this month.
i had being so excited and on the 18th of this month i went to girona Spain, it was the first time getting a plane on my own so i was extremely nervous especially as i suffer with bad anxiety, but once i had got on the plane i was fine, my mum, step dad and little sister picked me up from the airport as i was camping for 5 day's, before heading back with my mum, step dad, step dad's friend and little sister through spain and France before getting the ferry back to Dover.
my step brother and sister and step brother's girlfriend and also my step dad's friend's daughter ( what a mouthful) had already flown out a few days earlier, but i couldn't get the flight with them because of owen's respite.
anyway i had a brilliant holiday, it was so nice to relax, and have lots of fun, and a very long, tiring but enjoyable journey back home through Spain and staying over in France for the night.
i rang owen every day to see how he was, and he had a lovely time at respite, no problem's which is always good, and owen loved some of the little presents i bought him in spain, it was lovely to get back home and see owen, i missed him so much.
